File Save As Command

Windows 98 Example Dialog.

Save As allows a histogram display to be saved as an uncorrelated histogram FCS display file. In addition, Save As allows paired xy data in a dotplot to be saved as a text file. Displays may also be saved in a graphical format.

WinMDI tries to be "smart" about predicting a reasonable file name for the Save As operation in order to minimize the entering of text strings. If the input file has no DOS file delimiter in its name ( 012392. , for example), WinMDI appends *.his to the name ( 012392.his ). If the input file has a DOS file delimiter in its name (JLK012.001, for example), WinMDI inserts an "h" after the delimiter (JLK012.h01). All histogram data is saved as 32 bit long integer in FCS2.0 format.

If Windows Bitmap is selected, WinMDI writes a DIB style bitmap.

If FCS binary is selected in the dialog from a Dotplot display, a new edited listmode data file is created using the current gates set for the active window.

WinMDI will also save a display as a Windows Metafile (*.wmf). The output file can then be imported into applications such as PowerPoint in a scalable fashion. Save all the *.wmf files, then exit WinMDI before running PowerPoint and importing the pictures.
