Version 2.2

1. Has a new kinetics mode defaults Dotplot switch in the preferences dialog box that sets a global default to additionally plot the mean Y value for each time point (X channel). The mean line is plotted as a 2-pixel wide line overlay to the Dotplot. When selected, this option causes the current Dotplot data to be written in tab delimited text with the Save As command. Each Dotplot window may have the global default overridden/altered via its Format dialog box. Each Dotplot window may have the global default overridden from within its Format dialog

2. MDADS listmode files converted to FCS 1.0 format with Verity’s software now are properly read in version 2.2 with the total as either $TOT or $TOTAL in the TEXT portion of the FCS file. If no $TOT field is present in any FCS 1.0 file WinMDI tries to guess based on the file size and other available parameters.

3. Annotation text now updates into the Sample text box in the Annotation Dialog as user types input into the edit box or selects from other sources to aid the “preview” functionality of the sample window.

4. Parameters labels may now be set and retained for all displays by using the checkbox Use these instead of file labels in the dialog box.

5. The activation of a graphical window causes the filename associated with the window to show in the footer along with “Gated” or “Ungated”.

Version 2.3

WinMDI version 2.3 has Dynamic Data Exchange (DDE) enabled in order to function as a server to MultiCycle version 3.0 for Windows (Phoenix Flow Systems, San Diego, CA). A single parameter histogram window containing 256, 1024, or 4096 channel gated (or raw) data may be used for this purpose. All histogram data sent to MultiCycle is at 256-channel resolution.

Procedure:

1. Start WinMDI version 2.3

2. Start MultiCycle for Windows

3. Create a single parameter histogram window with the data for MultiCycle

4. Export the data from the File menu or the popup menu.

5. MultiCycle will display the imported histogram.

6. Analyze histogram within MultiCycle.

The Global Memory flags are handled differently in version 2.3, resulting in improved application stability.

WinMDI now remembers the last selection for Dotplot events and applies it as the new default.

There is a new Set Standard feature in the tools menu to allow linear data to be displayed as normalized data. 6/24/96

The BDIS or other manufacturer’s CYTNUM (or $CYTNUM) field is now show in the Long Stats format in statistics output to indicate serial number. 8/15/96

WinMDI version 2.3 will read FCS3.0 data files less than 100MB in size. 8/15/96

Quadrant modifications (8/16/96):

If a quadrant is pasted into an Isometric 3D view, the entire view is now redrawn.

If a quadrant is in the Clipboard, the popup menu in all 2D windows now contains the menu item Paste.

WinMDI 2.4 Release for Purdue CDROM 2 10/96 - Misc. tweaks and fixes. The Printer Select and Setup functions still have issues to be resolved. The default printer device context is used for all WinMDI print jobs. This imposes the limitation of selecting a default printer configuration from the Control Panel before starting up WinMDI. Hopefully, this will be resolved by the next release.
