The Marker Tool allows a user to set HISTOGRAM screen markers either with the mouse or by typing in values. A Dialog box appears during the period when input to the display is allowed to set histogram markers. The box contains text at the upper left about how to set markers with graphic input via the mouse and displays the current channel value when either the left or the right mouse button is down over a valid histogram window area. The current marker index may be set from 1 to 8 using the drop down list box at the upper right corner of the dialog box. The default marker index is 1. The example below is for a 6 parameter histogram file with all parameters displayed:

The Clipboard button group allows the user to Copy the current markers to a marker clipboard for pasting into other histogram windows. The Paste button is only enabled when the marker clipboard contains values set with the Copy button. Markers are moved based on the current marker index. For example, defined markers with the index 1 may be copied to the clipboard and pasted into another histogram as markers with the index 1, leaving any marker values with a higher index unchanged in both histogram windows. The WinMDI marker clipboard is not the same as the Windows 3.1 clipboard.
The lower left of the Dialog box has buttons that allow the user to Set or Reset (open) the marker values. If a window has multiple histograms, the list box at the lower right allows the user to select the desired parameter from those displayed in the HISTOGRAM window.
The current screen markers may be copied to a logical gate if the Tools Logical Gate Command is used. In addition, all histogram screen statistics apply to the current screen marker regions.
