The Annotate command brings up a Dialog Box that allows the user to enter annotation text for display within a Graphical window. The dialog's Font button allows for the selection of both Font (Times New Roman usually looks good) and text color.
Once the Font has been selected and the desired text string entered into the Dialog's edit control, click "Ok" and the frame rectangle of the sized text region appears at the current screen cursor location in the active window. The text may be dropped at a desired screen location within the window by moving the frame rectangle with the mouse and clicking the left mouse button when properly located.
By double clicking with the cursor over any rendered annotation text, another Dialog Box appears which allows the user to either move or delete the annotation text.
Text fields from the FCS data file may be selected as annotation text by using the dialogs drop-down list box. "Enter" is the default and indicates user entered text. Optional FCS fields may be Sample ID, File name, Date, X label, and Y Label (in a 2D display). In Histogram windows, X label makes sense only when a single parameter is displayed, otherwise only the first parameter label is used.
The current maximum number of annotations per window is 16 (version 2.5)
