Tools Logical Gate Tool Command

Logical Gate Tool dialog box. Allows user to define histogram markers and 2D regions as a logical gate. Additional 2D window regions may be combined into the logical gate. Accepted events must be within all defined logical gate regions to be included when the Gate Command is used. As of WinMDI Version 1.2, each flow window may have its own logical gate scheme:

LogicEffect

Offnone

Andevent must always be within this region

Orevent can be within this region

Notevent cannot be within this region

HISTOGRAM markers, once copied to a Gate region, remain. The HISTOGRAM Region functions like a global 2D Region applied with And logic. See Gating Files in the Tips section for more on using the histogram global gate region.

Subsequent gating of all listmode files will utilize the combined Logical Gate regions selected by the user for that window.

The current Logical Gate scheme for any particular window may be deleted by clicking the Delete button, resulting in all 2D regions being reset to Off, and any defined HISTOGRAM Logical Gate region cleared.

Speed Issues: Histogram gates are always faster than 2D region gates, since the 2D Regions are Global Objects mapped by Windows 3.1 and Windows 95.
